Q. How do I get scheduled to begin? Do I need to call?
Yes! Leave me a message (I might be training clients;) and then go online to the member login at www.cedarfit-shape.net . In the comment section of the registration process please give me an idea of when you are available to spend 20-30 minutes with me for an intake and assessment session. At the intake session we will review your paperwork, goals, perform baseline assessments and discuss the 24/7 Accountability Tracking. (Please Note: you must attend this session and have the completed training agreement on file to attend any sessions).
Sessions that you register for and do not attend count toward activation and usage. If you need to cancel and the software will not allow you to, send a text to 5054897141. There is a good chance someone is waiting for a space to open.
Q. What does a typical session look like? What do you do?
A typical session combines strength, cardio, flexibility, stability, and core exercise. I use high intensity resistance training and high intensity cardio intervals. This is what the latest research and science tells us is the most effective and efficient way to work out for fat loss. In any given day we may use dumbbells, kettlebells, balls, bands, Suspension Training, or your own bodyweight. The session is never the same to constantly keep your body guessing and prevent you from getting bored. It’s so important that you enjoy working out, or let’s face it, you will do anything to avoid it.
I cater to the individual and don’t just have one set workout for everyone. Instead I show modifications, progressions, regressions, and low and high impact options so that every single person can work out to his or her own fitness level. I know that all of my clients are at different fitness levels and different points in their long-term goals. That is why I cater every workout-- every single exercise to the INDIVIDUAL. I assure you that NO ONE is left behind.
Q. Why do I need a personal trainer?
There's only one reason you would want to work with me - results. Whether your looking for guidance and support through a complete fitness plan, motivation to continue week after week or just the extra push during your workouts.
I like to think of it more as Albuquerque Fitness Coaching rather than Albuquerque Personal Training. I’m here to guide you along every step of the way from where your body and health are right now, to that ideal body and health you have in your mind.

Once you are on board with CedarFIT you have unlimited email access to me. If you have a question or problem I will do everything in my power to help you as quickly and thoroughly as possible. If you are at a restaurant and want to know the healthiest thing to order, just text me and I will help you. If you want some tips on exercises to do on your off-days, just shoot over an email. If you are frustrated that the scale isn’t budging or you need some extra motivation. I will lift you up and set you back on track.

Q. Should I just buy an exercise video first?
Many CedarFIT clients came to me after having little or no success with infomercial products exercise videos and power pills. Exercise videos can be a great cardiovascular component of an overall fitness program, however they fail to address 2 of the most important components of a complete fitness program that will get you fat reducing results.

Q. Why can’t I just cut my calories and do some cardio?Isn't cardio better for burning off fat?
The best way to lose body fat, increase your metabolism, and avoid those dreaded plateaus is to do resistance or weight training. Don’t worry ladies, it’s a myth that lifting weights will cause you to get big and bulky (Genetics can do that… and I know how to minimize or maximize it). Some people try doing endless hours of cardio before they come to me for help. You've seen it before the heavy aerobics instructor or the heavy nurse who walks all day long. The numerous people lined up on the treadmills who aren't reaching their goals.
While cardio can certainly be an important part of an overall fitness program, without the strength training component to help develop lean muscle tissue, excessive cardio will drop your metabolism. Adding lean muscle tone is the only way to achieve lasting fat loss. Just to give you an idea- for every pound of fat you have on your body, you burn about 1-2 calories per day. For every pound of muscle you have on your body, you burn about 50 additional calories per day. Muscle is about 25X more metabolically active than fat! Not to mention that muscle takes up a heck of a lot less room on your body.
I'll help guide you through a proper training program that will develop long & lean muscle tissue. The training system I use is awesome for stoking your metabolism to melt body fat away and is proven to be 9X more effective than long, slow distance cardio.
Q. Why shouldn’t I just go join a gym for 20-80 dollars per month? Wouldn’t that do the trick?
I know that you have endless amounts of options to choose from to lose weight, get in shape, and get healthy, but it is a lot easier said than done. Recent studies have shown that 65% of people that join a gym stop going within the first 30 days of joining, and 89% stop going within the first 90 days. That same study concluded that weight-loss seekers that had some sort of social support and accountability lost 50% more body fat than the test group that attempted to lose the weight on their own.
Losing weight and getting in shape is about motivation, accountability, AND knowing the right way to reach your goals. It’s also about establishing a lifestyle change. CedarFIT is not a quick-fix program—it is a complete and comprehensive lifestyle program that incorporates strength, cardio, nutrition, accountability, willpower, education, motivation, and social support. Q. I've tried countless diets before and always fail, how will this possibly work?
Countless CedarFIT clients have come to me because they are either confused or frustrated because their current plan or hap-hazard approach is not working. There's only one reason you may have failed in the past - you were using the wrong approach.
Really, it wasn't your fault, it was the fault of whoever created the program as it failed to address every component of a complete fitness program. Here at CedarFIT we do just that - address every area needed to whip your body into shape as fast as possible.
Although you have unlimited ongoing support and motivation, making positive, healthy changes to your lifestyle is going to take massive determination and hard work on your part. I encourage you to remember that it is possible to out-eat any exercise program.
Q. How can you guarantee results?
Simple, I know I do what works. The only factor is whether or not you really want to reach your fitness goals. I know one thing for sure, if you follow the workouts and guidance and the nutritional program you will get results - period.
Often times people try to blame their lack of results on an "excuse", whether that be bad genetics, conditions, lack of time or anything else. The real reason is the wrong approach: severe calorie restriction, excessive cardio, wrong types of food; these are just a few reasons people may fail.
I’m here to change that. In other words I'll help you understand why you have not been getting your desired results and steer you in the right direction.
Q. How long do the workouts last?
The workouts usually last between 45 and 50 minutes, which includes flexibility, nutrition, motivation and accountability checkup.
Q. How much will it cost?
My rates are very affordable. My Semi-private Sessions offer the most cost effective option. After speaking with most clients, you'll find that the tiny investment now saves hundreds if not thousands of dollars over buying useless exercise equipment, gym memberships and diet products that just don't work.
Q. How long will it take for me to see results?
If you are fully committed to your fitness plan and don't hang out in buffets every other afternoon you'll notice changes within one week. While it also depends on how frequent you are working out with a CedarFIT trainer, however, if you are following the plan and sticking to your nutrition program expect to see progress toward your goals within 4-8 weeks.
How far have to go and to what level you would like to get plays a big roll. Obviously if you want to lose 100 pounds, 4-8 will bring progress, but it will take much longer to reach your ultimate goal. It took me 10 & 1/2 months to lose mine:-)
Q. I hired a personal trainer before and all we did was go from machine to machine and count reps, is that what you do?
NO, definitely not. I guide you along through your journey to fitness, remember I’m not just a personal trainer, I’m a fitness coach. It's not about just training you and then leaving you in the dust afterward.
I’m here to answer your nutrition questions, educate you in the most effective exercise, motivate you to continue going and keep you accountable to that plan. With my help you'll avoid the confusion, the gimmicks, and the outright lies from the diet and weight loss industries.
Q. How many sessions week should I meet with my trainer?
That depends on your goals and current level of fitness. For most people 2 or 3 times per week is just about right to start out and see progress at an accelerated pace.
Q. Do I need to do any other workouts on my own?
You may receive some additional guidance and workout plans from your trainer, which may include cardio training, stretching and focus on nutritional habits. Additional workouts outside of the CedarFIT Training Sessions are definitely encouraged (unless you choose the unlimited option) to see maximal results from your overall fitness plan.
Q. Do I need to get a membership to a gym?
Not at all, I'll help you understand how to get an effective fat burning cardiovascular workout from your home using nothing but your body.
Again, the traditional forms of cardio are not necessarily the most effective to help you reduce your waist and body fat. I'll help you understand what is the most effective cardio training to burn fat fast.
